As a teacher, my focus is on nurturing my students' enthusiasm for music by learning songs they love, while cultivating solid foundational skills. My passion is rocking out and I love to share that with my students! I teach individual lessons at my private studio in South Berwick, Maine. Contact me for further info.

Before relocating to Maine, I was teaching at Acme Hall Studios, located in the heart of Park Slope, Brooklyn, Acme was an educational space, recording facility, and performance venue, catering to musicians of all levels.

Self-taught, and steeped in the DIY punk aesthetic from the beginning, Laura has a unique perspective as a teacher. Her students learn fundamentals of course, but also acquire a more invaluable skill: to trust themselves and follow their instincts. Laura takes her students seriously, no matter their age or level, and her warm, down-to-earth personality allows them to flourish in a non-judgmental environment. Besides all of this, Laura is a kick-ass drummer and an inspiration to watch on stage.

Laura has been teaching drums to my daughter (13) and son (8) for a couple of years now. She is awesome with kids. Her fun and relaxed personality helps them to become excited and engaged. My kids love her!
My daughter’s progress is remarkable, Laura is teaching her how to read sheet music for drums and she can now sight-read some pretty complicated beats. I highly recommend Laura as a drum teacher. When the pandemic started she was able to transition to remote learning very smoothly, without missing a beat. (Pun intended) ;)
